California Nisei High School Diploma Project  
 
Many Japanese Americans who were enrolled in and/or graduated from  in high school when Exec Order 9066 came about, never received their high school diplomas. Now comes the California Nisei High School Diploma Project

IF YOU...

-Are an individual of Japanese descent
-Were unable to complete your high school education in your neighborhood school because of forced removal and incarceration during World War II
-Were a member of the high school graduating classes of 1942-1945

You may be eligible to retroactively receive your diploma from the high school you were (or would have) enrolled in preceding your internment. An immediate family member can submit an application on behalf of an eligible individual, living or deceased. In accordance with Assembly Bill 781, passed into California State law on January 1, 2004.
